As you travel around the world, or even your home country, the faces, customs, and even the dialect will change. It is joyful and can open your eyes to so much.
Trying new foods and even how the air smells can be some of the most beautiful things in the world, but there are three things that you should aim to do in every place that you visit.
It can be challenging to compare the architecture and the people – they are different everywhere. But when you are feeling far from home – in a good way or a bad one there are a few things that can give you a little bit of an anchor point.
Pizza
When you are in Italy, you absolutely should try pizza in every region that you can. A Margherita is the most popular, and many would argue the only authentic way to eat pizza.
The pizza bases are the same – a dough, usually made of flour, topped with a rich tomato sauce, and layered with cheese.
But every new city you go to, or each country you are in, will have its take on what pizza should taste like.
The reason for ordering pizza in every place you visit?
- it’s simple and enjoyable. But more critically;
- you can create a list of the best pizzas in the world.
You have a fair list to share if you order the same everywhere.
Here are a few that should make your list:
- Sfincione Pizza, Sicily, Italy
- Margherita pizza, Naple, Italy (the OG)
- Lahmacun or Lahmajoun, Turkey/Armenia
- Tarte Flambee, Germany/France
- Langos, Hungary
- Flammkuchen, Germany
A delicious experiment.
Sunrise
The sun rises and sets each day – no matter where you are, how busy, or what else is going on. You will see a hundred different views when you are always on the road; all are unique.
From time to time, you must remind yourself how grateful you are to do what you are doing from time to time.
Unsurprisingly watching the sunrise gives us a deep sense of gratitude – you will feel more connected than ever. You can even make a video of all of the sunrises – and watch the landscape change.
Coffee
Coffee in a Vietnamese cafe and coffee from Crepe World Cafe is certainly different – but that is the joy of drinking coffee from all over the world. Just like pizza, the base ingredient is the same – those delicious coffee beans.
But each country has its own traditions, roasting methods, and types of additions, from syrup to dairy products like milk.
Grabbing a coffee in the local cafe is always a great way to run into the locals too, and be part of the hustle and bustle – just for a short while.
Coffee culture is a real thing, and for a moment, you can become part of the fabric of the community or the city you are visiting.
So there you have it, three very simple things to do in every place you visit that might just remind you how amazing it is to have the opportunity to do it.
